Kathryn & Haibo’s Wedding:
A whirlwind courtship sometimes runs in the family! Kathryn and Haibo met and were engages within four months-Kathryn's response…"well, that's how it was for my parents it worked for them!" Haibo, a native of China, wanted his family from China to attend the wedding, so we began the preparations well in advance to ensure all paperwork was in order. Kathryn wanted to incorporate Chinese traditions in the wedding which could be seen in the tea ceremony representing the joining of families, the tree displaying 999 origami cranes for good luck (each crane hand folded by Kathyrn and Haibo…okay, mostly by Haibo!), and Chinese take out boxes for guests to fill with sweet treats from the dessert buffet. To ensure that guests got a taste of Colorado, the rehearsal dinner was held at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo with tours of the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Exhibit. The blending of two cultures was rich in the beauty that we can transcend our minor differences to come together in celebration.
